Girl Gadget Talk

Hair removal

Hey busy bees, let’s girl gadget talk!

Hair removal

I am sorry I have been MIA, lots of great things happening on my end keeping me super busy. Unfortunately, I can not promise to keep this regularly up to date, I am just living up to my blog name I guess ;-). I do not wish to take the site down. However, I would like to chime in from time to time and share some girl/mom talk, share a quick and easy recipe or a workout. Having said that, today I would like to share a new gadget. Yes, I am calling it a gadget. This gadget was recommended to me by a very dear friend of mine. Before I tell you what it is, let me give you a back story. I am sure some of you can relate.

About 2 years ago I came across a great Groupon deal for laser hair removal. The deal was too good to pass so I jumped on it. Now, I did not do any research about laser hair removal and just went for it. First, I did not know that “effectiveness” of laser hair removal depends a lot on your complexion and hair thickness. I am naturally in the blonde family and have very fine hair. The salon I purchased my Groupon for was not very informative on any of this. After my 6 purchased sessions for hair removal, I still had a lot to go, so I purchased more. Twelve laser treatments in underarm and bikini area later…yes it hurts, I still had a little bit of hair left. Fast forward 2 years, my hair growth is back in full effect. Oh, and let me mention that taking any hair growth vitamins is not recommended either. Take all this into account and research your salon and everything before you splurge on this expensive treatment. Long story short, I am sure none you ladies enjoy shaving every day, or that dark shadow you get under your armpits. I certainly do not. After discussing this with one of my girlfriends, she pulled out her phone and opened up her Amazon page and shared this amazing gadget. So here’re welcome!

Philips Satinelle Epilator (Currently on Sale)

Seriously ladies, every single one of you needs to own this. The package insert says that is for legs only, but you can take my word for it, it work for underarm and bikini area. You can also read almost 4K reviews on Amazon about this.  BUT, if you buy one of these babies, YOU MUST read the next few lines.  Take a shower or a nice soaking bath before you use this. It will be even better if you exfoliate ( I have not tried that). The first minute or so, I am not going to lie it stings. But after a few seconds, it really does not hurt anymore. This basically plucks your hair all at once from its core. It leaves your skin baby soft hair free for days. Let me know in the comments below if you already use this. Do you have a girlfriend that could use this info? Please share it with her or on your social media, I would greatly appreciate spreading the tip 🙂

Until next time busy bees!

  1. Sorry to hear that your laser hair removal treatments didn’t work out. Generally, with laser hair removal it works best on people with darker hair and lighter skin.
I’ve been using an epilator for about two years now and I’ve been loving it! I’ve got the Braun Silk-epil 9 and I’ve been really happy with the results.
When it comes to epilating my best tip is to aways epilate when the hairs are short. The shorter the hairs are the less painful it will be. I like to shave my legs first and then wait a few days before epilating the regrowth.

    1. Hi Jorge! You are absolutely right, laser hair removal does work best on people with darker hair. I just wish the salons would share that info with people who are not familiar instead of just selling it to them. Thanks for the tip on the epilating, that is great to know. Thanks for stopping by.
